Submit Resources for Review
Selection of resources to be included on the OSSRC website is a multi-step, peer-review process that is undertaken to assure the quality of resources recommended to educators by the OSSRC. The first step of resource collection requires the OSSRC Coordinator to identify and examine potential resources believed to be worthy of review and to have the potential of being labeled as a best practice. After a resource has been identified it is submitted to a review board of Ohio educators for evaluation. Resources are evaluated independently by at least two members of a review board using the OSSRC rubric, which contains twelve criteria that address standards alignment, research base, quality and usability, and other considerations important to assure the detection of high quality resources. After this evaluation, recommendations are forwarded to the OSSRC Coordinator. If a consensus is met between review board members, the Coordinator confirms the recommendations. Resources identified are then promoted on the OSSRC website by the posting of a resource review. This review includes the resources alignment to an Ohio social studies academic content standard, a commentary that describes the content and quality of the resource, and a link that directs users to the website where the resource is published.
The OSSRC is asking for the support of social studies educators by asking for your help to identify potential resources. If you uncover a resource you believe to be worthy of review submit the information below to the OSSRC. Once submitted a resources will be examined by an OSSRC staff member and its potential for review will be evaluated.
