Civil War Draft poster

Description:

This is a draft poster for the Civil War. It shows how many men will be drafted from each subdistrict in Holmes, Ashland, Wayne, Medina and Lorain Counties. By 1862 the volunteer system was not providing sufficient manpower in both the North and the South, and both governments turned to conscription. The draft was both unpopular and ineffective.
