"This is a White Man's Government" cartoon

Description:

This cartoon show representatives of the Democratic party (from left to right) the Irish, the South (Nathan Bedford Forrest) and New York City business interests. Together they are supressing an African American man. The quote at the bottom states they believe the Reconstruction Acts are unconstitutional and, therefore, void. In the background are various images of injustices against African Americans.
