Ten Dollar Confederate States of America Currency

Description:

This 10 dollar bank note, issued in Richmond, Viriginia, is for the Confederate States of America. It was issued on September 2, 1861. Made of paper, it depicts a slave picking cotton. Designs of much of Confederate currency was designed not only to celebrate its white heroes, but to validate system that held its black laborers in perpetual slavery.
