John P. Cockey LetterDescription:This letter sent to Dr. John P. Cockey of Baltimore, Maryland from John C. Graff at Fort Ball, (near Tiffin, in Seneca County) Ohio is dated December 6, 1829 and contains a description of the trip from Baltimore on the new National Road, especially from Wheeling to Zanesville, Ohio. Also mentioned in the letter are Dr. Eli Dresbach and Dr. R. C. J. Carey, early physicians of Seneca County, the Ohio Erie Canal, the law profession and circuit riding, and the rumored removal of the Seneca Indians. Creator:John C.
