Straitsville Mining Article of Agreement

Description:

This is an article of agreement from the records of the Staitsville Mining Company of New Straitsville, Ohio in which the company agrees to employ James Dwyer and William Nugent for six months. The company agrees to furnish no less than 100 10 hour days of mining, and to pay 2 1/2 cents per bushel (At 28 bushels of coal per ton, that equals 70 cents per ton).
