Description:

Ohio Miners' Union president John McBride's October 29, 1884 address to the Ohio Miners' Amalgamated Association as entered into the the record of the investigation into the causes of the Hocking Valley Coal Strike.

In 1892, John McBride was elected president of the United Mine Workers, and briefly served as president of the American Federation of Labor.
