Tarhe PetitionDescription:This letter from Tarhe and eight other chiefs of the tribe to Governor Huntington of Ohio protests the surveying of land by whites in the area reserved to the Indians by the Treaty of Greenville. They remind the Governor that it is his responsibility to make sure that the treaty is adhered to, and ask that he send proclaimations to them and to Scioto remind the whites that they are not to survey or settle in the areas granted to Indians. The letter was written at Upper Sandusky and is dated May 8, 1810.
